I don’t know about you, but when the weather starts to get cold like it is, all I want is a creamy hot drink and a fuzzy blanket.
There’s something so comforting about a steaming mug of something, not just in the drink itself, but in cradling it between your hands and letting the heat wash over your face. I can’t help but grin when I’m snuggled up with a big mug of something warm!

This Spiced Golden Milk has been one of my favorite things to drink this fall (slash winter, cause it’s practically winter…). And best of all, not only is this drink sweet and cozy and tasty, I know that when I’m drinking it that I’m doing good to my body!
Healthy ginger and turmeric roots play a starring role in this cold weather drink alongside best supporting actor- cinnamon. And all of these spices are just loaded with health benefits.
Both turmeric and ginger are anti-inflammatory herbs that work wonders to cure heart burn or soothe nausea and an upset stomach. Turmeric has also been shown to prevent heart attacks, delay diabetes onset, promote both brain and skin repair, inhibit histamine release, improve the quality of sleep, and even fight cancer!

I love that it doesn’t taste super healthy; it’s just creamy and rich and perfectly spiced. And it’s great for cuddling in my hands!
So come on in from that frosty weather and whip up some of this amazingly healthy and delicious spiced golden milk. It’s guaranteed to warm you right up!
- 2 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 1/2 inch fresh turmeric, sliced thinly
- 1 1/2 inch fresh ginger, sliced thinly
- 1 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon cloves
- tiny dash of nutmeg
- pinch of sea salt
- Bring the milk, sliced ginger, and turmeric to a boil over medium heat in a small saucepan, stirring occasionally. When the milk is boiling, remove it from heat and let it steep for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, strain out the ginger and turmeric and stir in the maple syrup or honey, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and sea salt.
- Serve and enjoy!
